Question:
I am trying to see some queries.In Bex Browser when I tried to connect to SAP, it's telling 'Connect to SAP gateway failed'.
Error group is 'RFC_ERROR_COMMUNICATION'.
Can anyone tell me what exactly is the problem ? Is any settings missing here ?

Guest2, what you are trying to do is to connect from your computer to BW, not from BW to R3;
first thing to do is to check that you are able to reach the BW server from your computer ; try to logon to the bw backend to check this

say, just to be sure, when you say "connect to R3", I assume that you want to speak about the BW machine ?
because common use is to speak about "BW" for the BW machine, and "R3" for the source system, while they are both based on R3.

euh... that's pretty obvious!
BEX is used to log on to BW machines (or BW based machines) only...

hehe, I will keep this posting to show to people that thinks I am asking too basic questions when trying to help people...
Guest2, where do you think your reports are stored ? in R3 or in BW ?
If you answered R3, then please go and do some homework.
If you answered BW, why would you like Bex to connect to R3 while the source of information for Bex is BW ?!
So, when trying to connect Bex to BW, please choose the entry 'bw' from the sap logon, it will help.
