"Process Variant does not exist in version A" erro

Question: When I transport my metachain (which contains an data load) I get the error "Process Variant does not exist in version A". The variant it is complaing about is the start variant for the subchain that is part of the Meta chain. When I check the start variant (i.e. go to maintain it) it exists.

Any advise ??

Thanks, Koolray

Answer:
If I go by the message it seems that the system is not able to find an Active version of the process variant, trying activating the PC and then transporting it if it helps.

Answer:
It is definitly saved and active.... I am not quite sure what they mean by
"version A" ? Any other clues ??

Thanks, Koolray

Answer:
John, The variant exists as I can run the load portion (sub chain) which uses the variant just fine. I get the error when I run it through the Meta chain

Thanks, Koolray.

Version A stands for Version Active

Answer:
Anu, Thanks.... SAP finally came back to me and it looks like some kind of bug. The version is saved and activated in Development, I then create a transport via the workbench (RSA1) and transport to test. When it gets to Test the version is not active !! I then activate it and it works fine..Hmmmm?
