Question:
HI Gurus I have a question on InfoSets. i tried searching the forum, but didnt find any relevant hits for this topic. Please share your thoughts on this. I have an infoset to be built combining 3 infoProviders, a combination of 2 ODSs and an InfoObject(Masterdata). Now the Masterdata InofObject is not present in both the ODSs and also none of its attributes. So while Building the infoset, I have common keys for the ODSs, but not for the infoObject. So how could these three be linked together to built an infoSet? Your suggestions will be highly appreciated. Thanks!
Answer:
any thoughts guys???
Answer:
If you have no common key for the InfoSets to link to either of the ODS's then what are you expecting to report off of them? (Just trying to understand your quandry better.)

Answer:
Thanks for the reply bob. both the ODSs have common keys but the third info provider is a masterdata infoObject and it is not present in either of the ODS.(not as a key, not even as a field). If i want to create an infoset combining these three would it work and how would I go abt doing it? The master data infoObject is a calender field. Thanks. any thought? Did i make sense??? My question is do I need to add that infoObject in the ODSs to be able to create an infoWSet or shud that infoObject be a key in those ODSs? Please reply. Thanks!

OK, now I understand your question better. The InfoObject needs to have it's key present in one or both of the ODS's.
You have to have some way of releating the ODS's and the InfoObject together.
You could make the Key of one of the ODS's present in the InfoObject, but that really doesn't make any sense in that direction. (You would aslo end up w/ a huge InfoObject from a data perspective.)

Answer:
Yeah Thats where i was kindof struck, as i cant make changes to to one ODS and one infoObject, but have another ODS which is in Development, so ill have to see if i can add it as a key in that ods and see if i can link it. will have to test it though. anyways thanks a lot for your quick responses stephen ( Yes, atlast i got ur name right.). I will work on it and post the result in a couple of days! Thanks a lot.
