Question:
Hi,
I'd like to buffer the Number range for an infocube dimension prior to loading. But, my production is locked down and development doesn't prompt for a transport when changing the Number Range for the dimension.
How should I be able to accomplish this? Open the Prod system? Anyone?
Thanks!
Answer:
When you say Buffer, do you mean the option
extras -> Number range object -> For SID's ?
Dont have a answer for you sorry never used this functionality but i would like to ask you, why would you do this? what is the perceived benefit of setting these number ranges for the SID's?
regards
Answer:
I want to buffer the sid number range to improve the initial load performance. I have a MD object with 150K entries.
Answer:
Hi,
I am new to administring BW but when it come to number range buffering the SID's/BID's will not be created until the cube is in place and loading started (my observations)
Then goto se37 enter RSD_CUBE_GET (F8 single Test) enter cube's technical name, followed by 'a' in I_OBJVERS, 'x' in I_BYPASS_BUFFER
execute (f8 and select E_T_DIME
SID's/BID's number objects are there..
Please put me right if i'm talking cobbler's
