Question:
Hello BW gurus,
Every single BW query that I have designed so far suffers from the same problem. When the selection screen pops up and I do an F4 help on character type fields (like company code, vendor, customer), the key is displayed but not the texts. All the text fields are blanked out even though the texts have been extracted.
Is there some configuration behind this or is this normal behavior? Any help would be highly appreciated.

Answer:
Check for navigational Atribute.
Good luck.
Answer:
Did you load the text as attribute or as text?

Thanks for your responses. To answer Juergen's question, the texts were loaded as attributes and not texts. These texts are visible in the master data tables in the BW system. vj123 said "check for navigational attributes". Can you please expand?
Thanks,

Answer:
this behavior is normal, as you loaded it as attribute, not text
let's take the sample of the customer;
your text is now at the same level as the customer group, for instance;
you don't expect the customer group to be shown when you press f4, don't you;
as the texts where loaded as attributes, the same applies
to see them, load them as text, not as attribute

Answer:
Oh my god... I was right... Mayabe I made the mistake once myself... At the beginning it's a bit confusing that you don't see the text in the info object's defintion directly
To load them as texts you have to enable "with texts" under the tabe Master data / Texts and then create an infosource 0customer_text where you can assign the according data source..

Answer:
... but as vj123 tried to tell,
if you set the attribute as navigational attribute, then it will be visible also (just discovered it right now)
