Key Figure attributes of Master Data

Question: Hi all,

Does anybody know of way to have the key figure attributes of a master data object available for calculations in the query without using virtual key figures (too many) or by using VBA?

If this is not possible as I suspect, then if I add them to the fact table what do i do to ensure they are never aggregated with any characteristic or combinatioins of characteristics in the cube? (have tried non cumulative - does not work).

Thanks for your help.

Could you be a bit more specific as to what exactly you are trying to achieve here? Please also give information on your BW release.

Answer:
Hi ALL:

This is possible using formula variable. In the sense create the key figure as an attribute of the info object
Crate Formula variable as under
Enter characteristic field with infoobject field
Enter replaced by as attribute value
Enter attribute as key figure

Please let us know whether this will work for you.

Answer:
Thanks, that worked sweetly! I forgot about replacement path formula variables!

Answer:
Hi All,

I've been following the topic about getting a key figure attributes of a master data InfoObject avaialbe for calculations in a query.

I've tried the solution but always get 1 as a result.

My requirement is to make use of a characteristic field to do a count on the master data that have matching attributes. And this counter is required as query result and also for further calculation/formula.

Just a little bit of explanation of what I've done that didn't return the desired result:
- Created a formula variable of processing type Replacement Type
- With characteristic referring to an attribute of the master data object
- Replace variable: Attribute Value
- Attribute Value: Characteristic Reference (Constant 1) <this is the only choice available>

Thanks for your help.
