Hi All,
When we try to upload a file it references master data and gives an error Unauthorised Characters found XXXX(blank). We checked the MD infoobject and found there is a one record with Controlling Area and all other fields are blank. We thought this may be cause the transaction data load to fail and tried to delete the single record in MD thru Info Object maintenance.
But we keep getting the error
"No master data was deleted. Either because it was all being used, or because the user did not want to delete upon request.
Procedure
First delete the master data in the places, in which it is still being used:
1. In the InfoCube
2. As an attribute
3. In a hierarchy
Then try deleting again"
I couldnt find a appropriate solution in this forum for deletion of master data. We are on Verion 2.0b.
We are not sure why this record is in master data with blank values.
Any help ASAP would be great as this is happening in production and we have tried deleting the single record in Dev or Q we keep getting the msg!

Try to find out if there are queries or workbooks that contain the object.
If the answer is yes, you have to remove the object from thoes queries and workbooks.
I do not know of a simple way to find the queries and workbooks that contain a specific object. I have tried to use "where used" functionality. The problem here is that I get all the queries from thoes infoproviders that contain the object.
I believe that it would resolve your problem.
