ESS Leave Request Workflow.....

Question: We are trying to set up the standard ESS Workflow for processing leave requests, however when we try and execute the request, the system message:

'you are not one of the possible agents of this task'

pops up - how can i change this task to make any ess user a possible agent?

any advice appreciated

Answer:
Set the task as general task ...
and define the ESS USER as responsible agent.

That will do the trick,
Kind regards,
Wim

Answer:
Hilven's suggestion of using a general task will definitely work, and I must admit I tend to use that option perhaps a bit more often than I should, but it does give rise to security issues.

What you should really be doing, particularly if the number of possible agents is fairly low (<50?), is assigning them directly to the task via PFTC or through organisational management.

What we tend to do is create a position, or some kind of organisational unit, assign users to it, then assign that to the task - from there, the client takes responsibility for keeping things up to date.

Also, remember to refresh the organisational enviroment (via the business workplace menu or through SWUS) once you've made your changes, else you'll be waiting until midnight for them to take effect.

I thought I did.

Look at PFTC to define possible agents for your task;
PPOC will allow your to create an org. unit.

The SAP help will take you from there.

Answer:
there is a VERY good TUTORIAL in the section Business MAnagement / Business Workflow of the online documentation...

Guides you step by step through all different 'steps' in a workflow set-up

good luck,
