Enhance 0IC_C03 with 0MOVETYPE

Question: Hi Sapfans,

BW 3.1 Content add on 3.3
Oracle 9.2
R/3 4.7 PI 2003_1_470

We are about to activate and load Material Stocks and Movement cube (0IC_C03) and the users would very much like to enhance it with movement type (0MOVETYPE) as a charateristic since they are used to work with Movement types and know what they represent.

According to Inventory Management composit note 586163, page 11, there are only some enhancements "concievable" and 0MOVETYPE is not one of them. Don't know if that is of technical limitations or just recomendations. I pretty much know that the Key Figures in the cube represents one or more movement types but havn't found info about what movement type(s) is included in which Key Figure.

1. Is there anybody who has tried to enhanced 0IC_C03 with 0MOVETYPE? Positive / negative result?

2. Does anybody know where top find the relation between movement type and the Key Figures in 0IC_C03?

Thanks,

Answer:
Hi Ski.

Did you enhance the Cube with Movement Type. My client looks for the same. I would appreciate if you could give me your inputs.

Thanks

Answer:
Hi Rajesh25,

Yes we did, but be aware. The2LIS_03_BX (the init) does not contain 0MOVE_TYPE nor does 2LIS_03_UM (revaluations) so there will be a number of blanc records in the cube for that field. However, if you go back far enough with the 2LIS_03_BF (mat movements) the users will not be so much disturbed with that. At least they can track last years movements.

I suggest also that you add company Code (and any other relevant attributes of Plant in the upd rule for _BX if thats is ok with the historical truth. It took about 2 secs before our users requested that. Yes, you can also use them as nav attributes in the cube but what if they want attributes of 0COMP_CODE = our case? Also from a performance perspective it's better to store it in the cube.

Good Luck!
