E-mail notification from process chains?

Question: Hello forum members -

I have recently run into frequent data extraction/upload failures. It's all the more irritating because I have to check the InfoPackage monitor. Instead , I'd like to be alerted immediately (in the form of an express mail). Can this be achieved in a process chain and if so how?

Thanks for any help/hints,
Jim Freilo

Answer:
Yes, simply add messages to the process chains you want to be alerted on either Error, Success or Regardless.

The only way you can do a whole process chain overall, is if that chain is a sub-chain in another process chain.

Right-click on the object and select the option for "Create Message". As long as email is setup on your BW system you will recieve alerts, just select or input the addresses you want the alerts to go to.
