Hello Gurus:
I am trying to customize R/3 for BW(Initialization etc.) and then trying to install business content in BW.I am working with SD and FI AR,AP & GL Business Content.I think i am following all the necessary steps needed..
1) Activate DataSource
2) Maintain extract structure
3) Generate DataSource / Replicate DS in BW
4) Activate extract strucutre
at this point i must tell you i get an error message saying "no active extrat structure or BW not connected(but it is active in LBWE) when i try to Initialize set-up...and when i try to simulate install business content i get and error(RSAU126) error when reading data target..the corresponding not on SAPNet says it is a support pack4 problem but i have checked the level and we are upto date with all the SP's.I am running ver.3.1c and 4.6c. Any help in this regard would be greatly appreciated.This is my first assignment where i am not having a full time BW Basis support.

I'm a bit confused here, are you trying this simulation after you already installed everything???

Coming to your second questions..I am using the simulate install and have not gotten as far as Install or install in background just so that i could check if everything was fine in the simulation run.

are you sure you are using the correct program to fill up the setup table?
please let us know which extract structure you are talking about and which program you use to fill the setup table...

at this point i get the error no active extract structures...
the extract structures i am working with that are active are in SD for BW(11) in LBWE

should be correct... this transaction calls a program (the program to fill the setup table) RMCVNEUA.
I tried the same in our production R/3 system (since the extract structures are not active there) and I do get the same error as you describe.
Check the following:
- transaction LBWE
- open "11 : SD Sales BW"
- do you see green lights next to your extract structures???
