Question:
Why is is that when i double click on a query (not workbook) in the browser it only takes me to the blank excel screen with the BEx toolbar.
Surely it should take me directly into the query

What is your system and support pack level, and GUI patch level?
Also run sapbexc.xla and see if you have any red flags.

We are running 3.1c....i have sorted the issue out with workbooks by using S_GUI in the authorisations. I thought they may be one for actual queries too.
Could you inform me how i run 'sapbex.xla'

On your hard disk, choose the path c:\Program Files\SAPpc\BW.
You will find a file called sapbexc.xla and not sapbex.xla (sapbex.xla is the add-in for you BEx)
Double click (or single click, as per your folder options, assuming you are running Windows, of course) on this and follow the on screen instructions.

Even i have the same Problem I try transaction RRMX and my XLS Sheet Just Freezes. I ran sapbex.xla with out any results.
