GENERIC EXTRACTOR USING SAP QUERY

Question: WE HAVE AN EXISTING QUERY AND I AM TRYING TO USE THIS TO
CREATE GENERIC EXTRACTOR.. I GET MESSAGE -

Functional area sd_XX_XX is not available in global area

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN.. DO U HAVE TO DEFINE THE QUERY
IN A SPECIFIC WAY TO USE AS SOURCE FOR BW GENERIC EXTRACTOR?

Answer:
search this forum on "global area" using "all terms" and you'll find about five postings around that; you'll find your answer.

basically : yes, you need to create it in a specific way : you need to put it in the global are (cross client)
