Answer:
i'am on BW3.0A
when i load master data i don't have the option "...and then activate master data"
so, after load i go to infoobject right click and then i choose "Activate master data"
...and i get the error message
Answer:
Lock NOT set for: Loading master data attributes
Search SAP NOtes for this. I remember this problem, but at the moment I cannot think of what the solution is off the top of my head. It is a fairly simple correction.

Answer:
W have the above metioned problem
(Trying to activate MD and getting the message : Lock NOT set for: Loading master data attributes)
some background:
* change run was started while a transactional load was still going on
* the job was (and still is) active (was actually a step from a Process Chain) so the jobname is BI_PROCESS_ATTRIBCHAN) but there was no process in SM50 anymore
* there still was lock in SM12 : deleted it
* tried manually activating the MD of InfoObjects of which we know that they are not involved in the current transactional load going on. At this point we get the error message
Any ideas...?
Answer:
There are a couple of possibilities here :
1. There is another process (usually a hierarchy/attribute change run) which has locked it
2. Another user has 'actually' locked it..
3. There is a DB lock on the object
if you got PSA while loading the data, then just do a manual update and schedule a change run.... takes care of things
Answer:
There is a DB lock on the object
could be one reason
check these note 574833 & 519247 m not sure it helps as the release is <3.X
Hope it Helps
