Hi,
We are trying to use the events of IDOC object for triggering workflow.
e.g. If we want to trigger the workflow once the IDOC is reached and / is posted into the receiving system. We have used events of IDOC object PROCESSSTATEREACHED and INPUTFINISHED for triggering the workflow.
But we are not able to trigger the workflow. How do we go about it?

Have you switched on and checked the event log (SWEL) to see whether those events are actually being raised when an iDOC hits the system and is processed?

We need the same, and we've executed tx SWEL, but we don't see the IDOC's event.
We are thinking of throw the event from a user-exit, how could we throw an event ? Does it exist any function ?

We've switched on the Event log but we could not find out any trace of the event ...those are not appearing over there. So I can't say anything about that.
I'm doing this excercise first time with IDOCS.

So I Can't say anything about it. This is my first excercise with IDOCS.
Ditto - my knowledge of iDOC workflows are extremely limited, beyond what they have in common with other workflows.
Well, if your iDOCs aren't raising any events, that explains why your workflows aren't starting.
Have a look and see whether there's any config. that needs doing to get the events to raise - might just be a simple IMG setting.
If nothing jumps out - might be worth searching through OSS notes.
