Question:
Hi Fans,
In the BEX analyzer it is possible, after executing a query, to right click on the keyfigures field, and select filter values. In this way it is possible to get rid of some uninteresting key-figures.
Does anyone know if it is possible to have a selection variable which can restrict the key-figures shown?
thanks in advance

Answer:
I think what you are after is exceptions

Answer:
Maybe more conditions than exceptions. Exceptions will change the design (color, ....) of the cells.

Answer:
Well, this is not what I mean.
For example:
You have defined a query with material on the row and 20 keyfigures in the columns. After executing the query, you can restrict the material for a certain number. Same with the key figures, you can filter those as well, i.e only display keyfigures 3, 10 and 20. Or keyfigures 4, 7, 12.
For the filtering of the material it is possible to define a variable in the query definition, which pops up before executing the query. Is this also possible for the keyfigures?

Answer:
So you mean a Variable which will hide/unhide key figures according what you entered ? What you mention is quite different from Char. to KF, because Char values are directly stored in the Master Data tables, since KF are not handled in the same way.
To me, not possible directly by BW.
In VB, you can code this easily.

Answer:
are these numbers static or are you wanting the user to define them on query execution?

Answer:
I think it's possible only with Visual Basic (condition: if a certain characteristic is not displayed, hide a certain column).

How to hide or filter KEY FIGURES.

Answer:
The only way that I know of is to filter on the key figure structure and then save the view. Then you can create a web template off of several different views of the same query. I do not know of any way to automatically hide them. You can create a custom web template that will allow you to create a drowdown box with the list of key figures and chose which one you want to see. There is a business content web template in BW 3.0b that does this. I think the name of it is sales organisation. Hope this helps.
