Right - really basic stuff.... I'm told that our BASIS team have installed BW. I log on to R3 as normal. Enter transaction RSA1. It states RSA1 does not exist. Should I be logging on to a specific BW client? Have our BASIS Team not correctly installed BW. Any advice greatly appreciated.

I guessed as much. So are you saying I should have a different log on on my log on pad to the BW environment? E.g. Production, QA, Development and now BW etc.

Yup.
On my logon screen I have three items for R/3 Dev, QA and Prod plus three more for BW Dev, QA and Prod.
Plus a few more for other SAP systems - it's pretty crowded!
