FIAR ODS to Cube

Question: What is used to load from 0_FI_AR4 ODS to The cube?

We only have after image from R3 datasource, so does the data-mart (data source of ODS) create after image using both the change log and the active table?

Answer:
Yes

Answer:
lhowlin>>> I checked my Change log table for the ODS and there is an entry with Recordmode = X which means change log itself would get the record from the active table during activation. Was it not that both change log and active table get data from activation queue? Am I missing something.

Answer:
I don't understand the question, but I can tell you how's the process, in a very rough way.
1) You load data into the ODS. The data goes to the New Data table.
2) You activate the ODS. The activation process takes all the records from the active table with the same key as in the New Data table and copies them to the Change Log with Records mode = 'X'. Then takes all records from the New Data table and a) overwrites the records in the active table, and b) copies them top the Change Log, with Recordmode = blank. Then it deletes the New Data table.

Sort of.
But enough to understand.

Answer:
We are really talking the same thing. Sort of.

My knowledge of update in ODS was that activation queue writes to both change log and activation table. In case of other datasources we have both the after and before image sent by the source, but in FIAR only after image is sent. That is a reason to be a bit confused.

Thanks, Anyway. It seems to work for now!

Answer:
Ah, yes. FI/AR, FI/AP and FI/GL have only after image. Logistics extractors have before and after. That's why we have the logistics cockpit in R/3.
