Restriction of Hierarchy Level in Selection Screen

Question: Hi,

we have query selections/variables including e.g. the hierarchy of costcenter.
Unfortunately I couldn't figure out how to restrict not only by hierarchy e.g "node 5" level as by single costcenters out of "node 5" too.

Any idea.

thanks

Answer:
Well, in order to select you have to have characteristics, haven't you?

The costcenters you want to have should be entries of the characteristic 0PROD_HIER, so you should be able to selct on these values

example

node 5

005

costcenters related to node 5

0050001
0050002
0050003
...
0050129

(these you be selectable?!)

Answer:
If you use an 'hierarchy node' input variable you can select on any specific node in the hierarchy, including a value in the bottom level (eg cost centre).

It is also possible (2.1C) to have an hierarchy node varaible AND a single value or interval variable on the same characteristic.

In the workbook output you can filter on multiple nodes (e.g. selected cost centres). Based on the wording of your question, this is probably what is best for your situation.

In 3.0B you can use an hierarchy node input variable in combination with a 'multiple single value' variable.

It is not possible to use an hierarchy node variable in combination with a selection options variable.

Answer:
multiple single value means the same value with different meanings caused by other values?

(like hierachy node 1..2..3)?

Answer:
Multiple Single Value variable allows input of a list of specific values (not hierarchy nodes). The Multiple Single Value variable is just like a Selection Options variable except that that value Intervals can not be requested.
