To me, there is no special code to read a Master data in BW.
What is you version of BW ? In version 3.0, you can define each infoobject as an infoprovider, and then build a query on it.
Visual Basic is, in the BEx, only there to help you formatting or changing the results of a query, but in no way to code access to BW like to another relational database.
