BEx - Suppressing Blank records

Question: Hello,
How can I suppress records with all KFs are Blank ?
I know I can suppress zero records, but Zero does not equal Blank.

Can someone help ?
Thanks,
Tal Barak

Answer:
Hello,

I think that the blank records mean zeros... and when you suppress zeros the blank records disappear.

Answer:
Hi Joana,
This is exactely the problem.
The Blank records do not disappear.
Blank is deffarent from zero, maybe it's NULL or an empty value.

Any other idea ?

Thanks,
Tal

Answer:
hi,
let us try this.It may look funny but i think this will solve your issue.(i suppose).
Just put a tranfer routine that if a " " ( Blank) character occurs 'all thru the value' (not 'any occurence ') replace it with '0'(number zero). and it brings all zeros. and when we suppress all zeros they will diappear!!
i didnt try this but i think this should work.

Hi Rao,
I'm not familiar with this feature.
What is a 'Transfer Routine', Is it a BEx function ?
Where can I find it ?
I would like to try it.

Thanks,
Tal

Answer:
Hi,

I had a similar problem when I wanted to remove rows with zero and/ or blanks in it.
BW 3.0 B has a functionality to supress zero colums or zero rows. Go to query change mode. Then click on properties and in display, at the lower portion you willl see two menus, one for supress rows and the other for supress zero columns. Use the applicable option.

This did not completely solve my problem. I had to go to the results are in Excel, then go to keyfigures --> supress zeroes.

This finally did the trick. Pl try it and I hope it works for you as well.

Have you tried the Zero Elimination option on the Collapse tab of Manage Data Targets?
