Filtering on Workbook columns.

Question: Hi All,

I have a strange problem with Filtering on Workbook columns (key figures) within the Bex analyzer during normal query navigation.

This only seems to be an issue post upgrade from 2.1c to 3.0b

Once a query is launched an end user can initially Select filter Value on any of the columns (Key figures) defined in the query, and filter as required.

However, this is not the case if the end-user has previously filtered / drilldown on any other query characteristic first; (i.e previously filtered and drilldown by cost centre for example, and now wished to also filter on key fiqures

When an end user tries to filter on the key fiqures after a different characteristc has already been filtered upon the following error messages occur:

The wdbsPres dialog box appears with the message ‘ Selection Row ‘NAME i.e IE255211513551354’ is inconsistent and is excluded from the selection

It repeats this error message for all key figures specified in the query definition.

Following this the user is automatically disconnected from the analyzer with the error message:

An exception with the type CX_SY_REF_IS_INITIAL occurred, but was neither
handled locally, nor declared in a RAISING clause

Message no. RS_EXCEPTION000

De-referencing the NULL reference

Message no. RS_EXCEPTION000

I believe to not be an authorisation issue and have rebuild a few queries but still the error remains.

I would greatly appreciate and assistance / advive anybody could offer on these errors.

I did your homeworks...

Search OSS on keyword CX_SY_REF_IS_INITIAL ,
you'll find about 8 notes around that kind of problems,
and some are speaking about program correction
