Answer:
... isn't it the other way round? You can sort key-figures. What do you want to achieve by sorting characteristics. May be an example will clarify...
Answer:
tafkap, you sort key figures in the following order decided on characteristics;
he want to sort characteristic by increasing values of key figures
sorted by country

Answer:
ok, ok. Why not RMC (right mouse click) on characteristic? In my old fashioned 2.1C case you can sort characteristic by key, description etc.
Answer:
My question is sort the amount not characteristic.
CHC is correct.
Thanks
Answer:
he wants to sort ON the KEY FIGURE,
not on characteristics
ok, if you really don't want to answer, I'll do it :
RMC a key figure and choose sort ascending or descending

Answer:
Though, if you are asking if you can do this prior to query execution (in the query definition) you can set the sort for KF's. Small short-coming.

Answer:
There is'nt a way to sort on Key figure ( not to my knowledge) at deisgn time. Workaround is to create a condition and use TOP N or Bottom N depending on which order you want to sort and give the largest value possible.
Answer:
Yeah, what Sid said. I just re-read my post and realized it made absolutely NO sense whatsoever.
What I meant to say was you CAN'T sort it prior to query execution.
Doh!
Answer:
hey guys, you know by now that my Bex level is not that high,
so may I ask a silly basic question ?
in properties of a key figure,
there is an option "calculate single values as" (or something similar) and one of the options is "ranked list" ; what's the result of it ?
Ch
(and if somebody tell me "try it", I'll bite )
Answer:
Try It

Answer:
It will replace the results of the key figures with a ranked list.
1000 - 2
800 - 3
400 - 4
300 - 5
1200 - 1
Only the ranked list will show up in the query results.
Thanks,

Answer:
Hi All ,
In the query designer I am selecting display characteristics as Hierarchy. Ranked list is not working for this . Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
Answer:
You cannot rank on hierarchies. Just like if you were to try a Top 10 on a hierarchy. It's not possible.
Thanks,
