Is there any method of populating the values in the select options of
a characteristic under scheduler of and infopackage?
We want dynamically to input values in the select options before scheduling the infopackage.

Yes this is possible . In the infocube maintanence, under 'Data selection tab', there is input filed against each selection parameter, The input field is under the heading 'Type(variable change to selection'. choose value 6(ABAP) and it will lead to a ABAP routine screen. Inside this I called my own function module which asks for user input.
This was particularly useful in production system, as we cannot transport infopackage every time.
