!Please Help! - - - InfoSource Question!

Question: Hi

I am a moderate experienced BW developer, but need a bit of help

I am working with SAP ISU and are doing a prepayment meter build. We have got two data sources (master data and a transaction data) from SAP with one Infosoure and one ODS. (This is probably a normal build situation but i have only ever built one to ones)

I have linked one data source (transaction data) to the infosource and then ODS etc but im stuck as to what to do with the second (master data).

I am under the belief that the link from Datasource to Infosource should be one to one so i created a new infoSource and then linked the second datasource to that and then linked the ODS to both InfoSources.

Will this work?

Is this correct or is there a better way to do this?

If it is correct then should the master data one always be a full load?

cheers

BWB

Answer:
-I suppressed my previous remark as you explained your situation by PM-

SO, let's try to start somewhere to help you, as nobody else is trying to do so, most probably because your situation is a little bit fuzzy...

First question will be, in which version are you working (as usual, read the sticky )

Now, what do you want to do with the master data ? You could use it to add some info in the ODS, but following to what you are asking, I believe you are not yet at this level of understanding (please DON'T take it the negative way, experience is only a question of monthes), so most probably what you want to do is to feed an infoobject from this infosource;

so, I guess you are on version 3(otherwise I wonder how you could do what you describe), and what you have to do is to create an update rule between your infosource and your infoobject, that's it.

Afterwards, you will use the same infosource to schedule packages that will feed the ods (transaction datasource linked) or the infoobject (master data datasource linked).

I hope this will clarify a little bit the situation.

Of course, AS USUAL, I may be wrong in my explanations/comprehension of your situation, but then most probably somebody will then try to lecture me, and you will receive your answer this way...
