in the property tab of a web template, I have a flag "use personalised template";
what's the use ?

This is a setting that can be used for web templates so that you can have one template that many users access and then they can personalize it and everytime they come back to the template it will use their personalization. This view is for them only and they can delete this personalization from the context menu if you have set personalize template in the properties tab for the template. Hope this helps.

With this command you can personalize a Web template for the user who is logged on. The next time this user calls the Web template with parameter USE_PERSONALIZATION=X, the same navigation status as was valid during personalization is displayed. This mechanism is useful especially for portal pages
From Help.sap.com. I tried it myself and it doesn't seem to hold, but it might hold if you use it within Portals or just not executing it from WAD or BEx by itself.
