Answer:
so few informations

try to restrict your query to a small subset of values using the key and see what happens

Answer:
Other possible problem:
Did you defined some variables for your query. If so, do you get the selection screen? If not, the selection screen 'jumps to the background', via ALT+TAB you can find your selection screen.

This can be prevented via a higher GUI patch level.

Answer:
what could be the problem?

you might be asking too much data at once?

Answer:
it might still be that your "small" selection, selects too many records on the productive system...

try the same selection via InfoCube maintenance directly on the InfoCube and see how long it takes there

cheers,

Answer:
Hi EL

It throws query in few seconds both with and without selection of range values in INFOCUBE MAINTENAINCE.

Hi GuestBW

Whats the last error it gives, does it completely hang or shows some records and hangs in middle check the status in WINDOWS TASK MANAGER.

Chetan

Answer:
Hi Chetan,

I kept runnin query for 1 min after that saw status NOT RESPONDING in Task manager and then ended that task.

GuestBW

Answer:
did you at least TRY to leave running for more than one minute ???

"not responding" does not mean "not doing anything"

I sometimes had queries running up to 15 minutes (no comment about that) before showing up the result
