Hi Everyone,
I'm after trying to get the supervisor of an employee. The infotype orgassigment has a field called supervisor, but this looks like its populated manually is it possible to populate it from the org-sturture. This way if a supervisor moved or left, we don't have to re-allocated a supervisors id manually.....
Does anyone know how this can be done or if its possible...?

As far as I understand your question, it is possible...Define ROLES(not organizational agent)as per 4.6c or rules(as per Web AS 6.10 or 6.20) for dynamically determining the supervisor..

Hi,
U can use PPOME to assign the position as head of department.
The position which is head of department -> double click this will open the relevent information abt the position
check the tab Head of the department in tht.
This way the person who is allocated to tht position will be treated as head. Basicaaly in this case we are defining position as head so it is not related to person. so if tomorrow the the head of deprtment changes u just need to relate the person the new will be treated as head. you dont need to manually define head again n again bcoz of person movement.

with the employee id of the head of that department/section?

Sorry for i am unable to get which field do u mean to get the employee id info for head of tht department
All that u have to do is double click on the position defined as head and tick the check box "Head of own organizational unit"
This info once u save will be available in the concerned employee database also as can be viewed via txn PA30 infotype 0001.
