This is a general questions.
I have an FI ODS where for the purposes of some specific reporting requirements I have introduced a new char which effectively puts a transaction line into a value band A,B,C etc in the Update rules
What I dont want to do is have to reload everything for this to take effect... does anone have a spec / psuedo code or an idea of how an abapper could get this new fields filled in without a reload?
basically fire off this update rule for lines already in the ODS?

A reload is really the easiest thing, but if you've got your mind set on not doing so, you might be able to use the APD to resimulate your update rule on the entire ODS via a routine.

thanks... didnt think of that... will have to check it out.
the client I am working at the moment do not really keep PSA data or anything, one change I have is in MM and to do a reloade I will have to go through the whole lo cockpit reload... (setup tables/downtime etc etc)
I can sort out new invcoming records by just switching on the change in UR but would be nice to be able to regenerate exisiting records without a lengthy reload.
