Process Chain and user ALEREMOTE configuration

Question: Hi

When trying to schedule an activated process chain in BW 3.1 the system is giving an error related to user ALEREMOTE.

SY-SUBRC=8
BP_STEPLIST_EDITOR: Invalid step values (step 1) found. Resaon:
User ALEREMOTE cannot be scheduled due to its type.

Our jobs of extractions from R3 and loading process for user ALEREMOTE works perfectly, by the way.

Does anybody know which specific configuration has to be given to this user in order to schedule process chain?
Which type the user has to be defined? Dialog Type? In this case are there any conflicts with the fact that it is a communication user? Any problems with password expiration?
Why the job is created on user ALEREMOTE and is it possible to configure this in order to be a different one?

Thanks for your help

Sebastian

Answer:
Please search the forum and if possible OSS before you post.

In short the answer is to change the user type of ALEREMOTE from CPIC to System to fix the problem.

Answer:
Hi,
I'm unable to schedule my PC because it wants to use the BWREMOTE ale user for the background job.

I can't switch the BWRemote user id from communication to system (as an OSS note suggested) because then I won't be able to extract from SAP.

Anyone have any answers to this??

Thanks
Kath

Huh???? Why not , in order for BWREMOTE to run extraction in the background it needs to be setup like ALEREMOTE.

You also mention not being able to schedule your PC. Are you also trying to run a flat file load in the Process chain?
