Can Change Run be running with Transaction Loads?

Question: Hello,

I load Master Data, then run a Change Run. There are no InfoPbjects or Hierarchies listed in the respective Lists on the Change Run screen, so I assume this will activate ***ALL*** Master Data that has changed.

Is that correct?

In any event, can I load transaction data to ODS's (which of course have no aggregates) while the Change Run is still executing? Some of the Update Rules do lookups on Master Data.

Thanks in advance.

If nothing is listed, nothing will be performed as nothing is needed to be changed (not all master data upload leads to change run !).

If your update is looking for a value in master data that is being updated by the change run, you will have a problem (looking for something that is not yet there/not yet updated).

Thanks for the reply.

I loaded Master Data which included a Delta Run on 0WBS_ELEMT_ATTR, and it picked up a couple hundred records. As I mentioned, the Change Run InfoObject list was BLANK, yet the Changr Run ran for nearly an hour.

I then right clicked on the Master Data symbol next to theInfoSource and chose the option "Activate Master Data" and it tells me it is already active That is why I conclude that leave the list blank selects ALL.

Could you tell me why you think otherwise? Thanks in advance.

In your second paragraph, would this still be a problem if I have configured my InfoPackage for trasnsactional data to process as "Always update data, even if no master data exists"?

Thanks, Shoie

Answer:
We have an attribute/hierarchy change run scheduled to make changes to the aggregates.
- What is the best way to go about, when these change runs are taking too long and a transaction data load is scheduled? Can transactional data load and change run in parallel?
- How does change run affect the master data load.
Please share your experiences.
