Question:
Hi All,
We are having a situation that we need to point one R/3 DataSource (RQCLNT100) to two BW systems (BDCLNT100 and BQCLNT100). Can we do this?
Also, originally we had BDCLNT100 and we could extract the data from R/3. Now we have BQCLNT100 and we are unable to load the data from the same datasources. Is there any reason for this. At the time when we did this, the same R/3 sourcesystem is pointing to two bw ystems.
Thanks

1) no problem to have one source system feeding two bw systems; even the delta queue on the source system is target dependent
2) perhaps should you check the connections in SM59 to ensure that you did not change anything about the original connection when connecting the second system

PS : you posted three time about the same subject in 2 minutes... if you act the same with your bw implementation...
Answer:
Hi CHC,
Thanks. I am just trying to get the post clear to the fellow fans.
Thanks. I tried that and using SM59 the connection went OK.
Is there anything else to check. Please give me the steps and will be the single way to get this right?
Thanks.

Answer:
hi,
i am afraid of its one to one mapping between R/3 data source to BW info source.
am afraid of this is the fundamental extraction and replication of data source from R/3 to BW info source.

I'm afraid you are wrong in the specific case we are discussing here.

before being sarcastic or agressive, let's try to be sure
bwl, I don't understand yet at which step you are stuck. The three systems landscape is already communicating correctly or not ?
If not, perhaps the problem is :
you had BW1 discussing with SOURCE1 using bwaleremote with password"success";
then when trying to setup the source system for BW2, you tried to reach SOURCE1 creating bwaleremote with password"failure";
I don't know how the system would react, but perhaps did you in fact change the password of bwaleremote sothat BW1 is no longer able to log on;
my advice would be to use two different users, bwaleremote and bwaleremote_for_the_second_system
Just a guess,
Ch
