Question:
BW gurus,
I would truly appreciate some help with this one. When I open up BEx and click on "queries" and then click on "roles", I get a list of queries for that specific role. I have not yet been able to figure out a way to sort/rearrange these queries. They always show up in the order in which they were created. Does someone know of a way this can be done?
Thanks a lot,
BW novice
Answer:
In transaction PFCG, you can modify your role menus. This is a security transaction where the roles are created. Whatever order the queries are in on the role menu in PFCG, that is the way they will appear in the BEx role tab.

You can also alphabetize the list of queries being displayed by clicking on the "Description" header. In fact, this alphabetizes the roles AND the queries within each role. For long lists, I have found this to be a very useful way to find the query that I am looking for.
Also, clicking on the "Description" header a second time resorts the roles and queries in reverse alphabetical order (which is less useful, IMHO).
BTW, this also works for workbooks, exceptions, saved views, etc.
Unfortunately, there does not appear to be a way to make this the "default" display order, so it has to be done each time the list is redisplayed.
Hope this helps...

Answer:
You can use the "Browser" (Its a component installed as part of SAPGUI in the Business Explorer group in your programs menu.) which will allow you to sort, arrange and move items in a role.
Its somewhat kludgy, but it does work.
