what I am looking for is -
I would like to have a query with 'discount price' as a key figure. This key figure is not available in the cube and the discount price is derived from
no of items (field available in the cube) * unit discount price (available in custom table ).
In order to use virtual key figure, the doc says I need to create a key figure?. Since these calculations are only for this query and are dynamic, can I use any existing 'amount' field which is already existing and which is not used in this query.

actually... you could pick up your "unit discount price" in a start routine...
my suggestion: add a field to your InfoCube; use a start routine to pick up the extra field(s); do your calculation in the update rule of the new field
