Question:
Hi,
We are using the message types(PORDCR1, MBGMCR and INVOIC) in our project and BD87 is being used for analyzing the errors ( basically status 51)
However, we noticed that BD87 is showing the errors in a different way based on the message type.
Eg:
1. Message Type PORDCR1 (PO) only reports one error and that is "****Messages for Input and Outbound Processing****"
The user must go into each IDOC and subsequently each error to see what the real error is.
2. Message Type MBGMCR (GR) reports all of the errors and is very clear. This is very useful for us for analysis.
3. Message Type INVOIC (Invoice) reports half and half. Sometimes the error is clear and sometimes everything is bucketed in an error called "Messages from IDOC processing can be found in application log"
Is there any setting in SAP for message types where SAP can show the error report similar to MBGMCR ?
Thanks in advance,
Ramya
Answer:
You might consider using we05 and configuring a variant to your needs.
I found idoc monitoring through we05 more efficient than bd87, but on the other side most people only use their pre-defined variants, including their status definition of 'error'.
So the combination of we05 and bd87 would be best. In the past we run we05 daily for problem solving and bd87 once a week to make sure we didn't miss a strange status.
