Limit Interaction record or reverse flow?

Question: Scenario - create a help desk ticket which is the interaction record, we create follow up activities that all show in the activity clipboard (great).

But if you use "interaction history" find a follow up document and select it, it appears the follow up document is the interaction record and there appear to be nothing in the web IC that shows the original interaction record. Anyway to control which documents can be interaction records? or when selecting it have it show the original interaction record?
