Question:
In FI there is a table maintained to determine what posting periods are opened and closed. However in BCS no such feature exists.
The auditors would like to ensure that only a few active periods are opened in BCS. Is anyone aware of a way to close all future periods in BCS?
Any suggestions regarding this are appreciated.

Answer:
Period comes from data source tables. Naturally there would not be any data for the future period and users will not be able to do anything. In your case, are you going to use Flat file upload?
The users need special authorization to open and close periods. By defining in users authorization, you can control that they cannot access future periods.
Answer:
Yes,
Using authorisations, all periods remain closed until made otherwise by a central user.
Answer:
I have seen many tables listed in SE16 relating to SEM periods starts with /1SEM/UCS*. I think one of them will answer your question.
