Inbound Idoc Picking up Incorrect Port

Question: Hi All,

I am currently encountering a problem with inbound Idocs used for stock checking in warehouse management.

Firstly an outbound Idoc is sent to an external Barcode system. A stock check is carried out and subsequently an Idoc is created by the Barcode system and sent back to sap (message type WMINVE).

The outbound Idoc is successfull, but the return Idoc cannot be processed due to it having an incorrect port assignment in the sender information on the IDOC in we05. If I enter the correct port to the Idoc manually in SAP it can be processed using we19.

Does anyone know where the port assignment for the sender is controlled from. All looks ok in the inbound parameters of the partner profile WE20

Thanks

Chris

Answer:
Your external Barcode system is sending back the IDoc so it needs to put a valid port in the Control Record of the IDoc.

Answer:
Are both the inbound and outbound FILE port the same?

Answer:
No the recepient port on the outbound idoc is different from the sender port on the inbound idoc. I am just not sure where this is determined. If I manually change the sender port to on the inbound idoc to match the what is displayed in the recipient port on the outbound idoc it can be manually processed.
