I am new at SEM but I am experienced at BW.
I have read several notes (included SAP course SEM220), and, as I understand, to implement Balanced Scorecard, some characteristics, as 0FISCPER, 0VERSION and 0VTYPE, are mandatory in infocubes.
I suppose 0VERSION and 0VTYPE can be omitted if I don't use PLAN and ACTUAL versions, or if I select the version in other way.
In the case of 0FISCPER I think it is different, isn't it?
Balanced Scorecard is always related to 0FISCPER.
My problem is that I have to implement SEM on a previous implemented BW.
In BW there are infocubes without 0FISCPER (for example, Sales infocubes). Instead of 0FISCPER, these cubes contain characteristic 0CALMONTH.
How can I do this?

I have learned the hard way that 0FISCPER is not obligatory but sure handy.
I have build a Balanced Scorecard in SEM based on 0CALMONTH. Everything worked fine until someone asked me whether we could aggregate values of a year (f.e. sales volume year to date). SEM can only aggregate if you use fiscal period, so I had to change infocubes, BPS and all value field selections in the Balanced Scorecard. Took me some days...
Parhaps a solution you should investigate is using an export data source in BW. Load data in a cube in a second loop to the same cube and just copy the data in the cube to fiscal period.
