Business Connector - ECC 5.0 compatibility

Question: Hi All,
We have BC in use with 4.0 Version. If we need to migrate into ECC 5.0,
Can we use BC instead of migrating into XI?
The advantage of using BC seems to be cost effective.
Will there be any RFC or routing issues, if we use BC with ECC 5.0?
Is it supposed to be 4.7 BC??. I find BC documentation in Netweaver 2004 (ECC 5.0) .But there is no specific documentation such as version compatibility etc.

Thanks!!!

Hi,

There is no problem using ECC 5.0 with BC 4.7.
And specially, you have nothing to do when upgrading. But, yes I am sorry, there is a But !!!! If something have changed when upgrating (for example, using new IDOC version, ...).

Good luck,
SSII

Answer:
Thanks SSII.I hope this wouldn't be an issue since our idea is to carry over same customization

Answer:
Of course, it will work with ECC 6.0 as well

Thx
