Anybody come across a situation when you run a Planning Function. System comes up with message "Data was saved". Yet when you go to the cube you find that no data was saved.

How are you accessing the data? I know that sometimes data in a open data request was not available to BEX reports until the data request status was changed from yellow to green. Use transaction RSA1 to check for a open data request.

I figured it out finally. I was using a Multi Planning area and saving to a key figure in one Planning Area. This key figure did not exist in that Planning Area but existed in the other Planning Area.
Hence it allowed me to build the formula but could not save it.
Strange... I had expected at least an error message....

You can save it if you put planning area into the fox function selection for "to be changed" and then specifically tell it to save it to the planning area which has that KF.
