Question:
Hello Group,
I have wrong fiscal calendar dates in APO production system. Now I need to change the fiscal month begin and end dates for certain periods.
What is the procedure to change time series for planning book? How to change the dates? If I change the dates directly in configuration, does that impact current data?
Thank you,
DP
Answer:
Wow, good luck with this and I really do mean it !
Just to give you a few pointers on what may/may not be required:
1) the planning area to be completely de-initialised and it's data deleted.
2) The Sales history and any other R/3 data that uses calendars, will also need to be completely deleted from the infocube and then reloaded.
3) If you have any data load routines that use fiscal calculations - then check them.
4) Do you have backup cubes for data, if so not sure how you go about changing the fiscal variants against these .
and probably loads more stuff if I really thought about it .
My advice is - if they are live with lots of data, ensure there is no alternative strategy before attempting. If you have to, then make sure you have a very good BW consultant who can advise on infocube changes.
Trawl through OSS notes to see if there are any documented drawbacks.
Good Luck

Answer:
Planning books can be created with whatever planing period you want. Only thisng is that planning area should have detail information for example if planning area has data at days, weeks and months you can create planning book with any period you wish to.
if problem is with peiodicity for planning area then you may decide to create new planning area with correct periodicity and load data from infocube to planning area. After all testing etc done you can delet ole planning area.
Planning are periodicity
planning book periods and
infocube periodicity aer alldifferent.
Infocube data need not be deleted, but it should have data at detail level which should not be problem in your case. If so you need not delete infocube only work on planning area and planning book.
