Can you anyone tell what, in general, the difference is between billing and invoicing in SAP IS-U and any other standard SAP such as SD?

during billing, one triggers the rates schema customized in order to calculate all the products needed (flat-rate, consumption tariff, monthly services...), a billing doc is created.
This billing doc allows to trigger the invoicing that actually generate a print doc in order to print the invoice and post the items of the bill doc (FI-CA doc is created). During invoicing, the VAT item(s) is calculated and posted in the same FI-CA doc. Also depending custo, SD bills & FI-CA items could be added to the print doc during invoicing.
