Question:
I have a need to create IDocs for INVOIC from a data file that is sent to SAP. The data in the file is supposedly in IDoc format. They want this to create IDocs in SAP and then process the IDocs.
I believe one would need to write a program that reads the file, structures the file data into internal tables which can be fed to function module IDOC_INPUT to create the IDocs at the ALE layer.
Is this correct?
Anything else I would need to do?

I'd say this is the wrong forum - there is one specifically for interfacing which includes IDOCs.

if you call the function module via RFC EDI_DATA_INCOMING
then go into We05 and see what happens.......
This should sohow the inbound files... and associated errors !
the EDI_DC entry in the Idoc should show what Partners setc need setting up.
I haven't done this but I know theres a help on Service.sap.com
