(How) could that be achieved with Business Connector?

I have the same issue. I have set up an email-port which is read bij BC-server and the emails are deleted afterwards, but I do not know how to save the attachment.
I have defined a global service for that port but I do not know which services to use to save the attachment.
Has anyone done this before ?

I forgot to mention that I mean non-XML-attachments. I know how to save XML-attachments, it's just the TXT-files that causes problems.
