Hi everybody,
I am a completely newbie on SRM and transaction SICF and WAS configuration.
Can I defined the default page of the WAS server to be the SRM first screen :
/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/bbpstart
In other word,I want that when you type just the hostname of my SRM server in Internet Explorer, you arrive directly on the logon screen of SRM.
Do I have to create an internal or external alias to do that ?

Hi!
As I know you can create alias for service, but anyway you should enter server name and port before it, when you try to call in IE. So I think it is impossible to call EBP start page using only alias without <server>:<port> string before.

I have a problem when using aliases (internal or external).
when I use it in IE it is OK it redirects me to the SRM main page.
But then, when I click on any link (let's say "shop") another SRM main page appears in the low right frame and then I cannot press on anylink without an error.
I am in SRM 4.0 (SRM_SERVER 5 SP8 )

it is from EBP Configuration Guide, may be it can be helpfull for you (like some kind of official recommendation ):
Starting SAP Enterprise Buyer (Start URL)
The start URL (Uniform Resource Locator) for the SAP Enterprise Buyer system is:
http://<host_name>.<domain_name>:<port>/scripts/wgate/bbpstart/!?~language=<language>
whereby <language> = de or <language> = en
Always enter the fully qualified domain name. It is not sufficient to specify just the server name and port or the IP address and port.
The first page is displayed in the relevant language.
