Hi all,
I've never worked with IDOCs before, so here is my problem. My client is receiving an IDOC file from 1 client through a long complicated stream. The end result is that the file is placed in a unix directory that I can see from AL11. The question is, what do I do from there? How do I set up something(job?) to process the file. I know how to set up a job, obviously, the question is what would be in that job - is there a program for processing IDOC files that I could set up in the job? Or is there another way specific to IDOC's to execute them?

You can use LSMW (Legasy System Migration Workbench) to convert the file into IDocs.For more help on LSMW ,please go to http://service.sap.com/lsmw

The file will already be in IDOC format, I don't know what to do to get the IDOC from the apps server into SAP.

Use the sap programs RSEINB00 (idoc file --> idoc) and RBDAPP01 (post idoc)
