Question:
What is it?
Answer:
An object which serves to store consolidated and cleaned transaction data at documentation level. If you had 3 extractors updated directly to the InfoCube (e.g. Sales, Invoices & Deliveries), the number of entries in the fact table would be increased, because the Request ID is part of the key of the Fact Table (as the Packet Dimension ID). This ensures that where the key values are the same, there is only one row in the fact table updated, which minimises data sizing and also performance constraints, where there is no suitable aggregate defined. Effectively, this has the same effect as compression in the InfoCube, without losing the request ID in the InfoCube.
