BEx Analyzer, Web applications

Question: What are the benefits of using BEx Analyzer in reporting instead of web applications. Sorry, but I cannot see it since I'm not very familiar with this. Could you tell me please?

Answer:
Hi!
The difference is that WAS 6.x (web application server) is "basicly" the successor to R/3 4.6C core with a integrated java server whereas the bex analyser is a excel-frontend to work with data collected/stored in a business warehouse (BW).

I hope this helps

Answer:
Well, I'd like to know, explained very simple way, what are the benefits in practice for user to use Analyzer instead of web-reports?

Answer:
Hi,

WAS:
+ java is suported, you need only a webbrowser, anywhere in the world.
- extra programming, but i am not familar with this/dont know how much effort is needed therefore.

Bex-Analyser:
- You have to logon to the SAP-System (BW). (ok)
+ Excel frontend: Most users, especially those doing analysis are familar with excel. So they can use their knowledge to create exactly the charts/lists etc. in the way they like. Only few additional traning required, users love it

+ Reports are easy to design & its very easy to navigate within a query for the user.
+ if you create a good basic query e.g. by an expert, (key)users can create their own reports/charts etc. with excel functionality. => More flexible, cheaper

I am not sure, but i guess there is a way to publish BW-queries/reports on a web server.
