Question:
Currently we plan using SNP Heuristics in monthly buckets, based on lead-times from supply to receiving locations, so that everything arrives by the end of the month at the end location. Therefore PPDS has demand so that product can be sent from the Factory to arrive in the receiving location by the end of the month.
We then run Deployment in monthly buckets, however Deployment then works from the end of the month plus the lead-time. Therefore all Receipts appear in the following month, and then we have stock shortfalls from the preceding month?
Example, 10 day lead time to market, market places demand on Factory for the 20/21 of the month from SNP, Production Planned on the 20/21, Deployment runs and deploys on the 30/31 from Factory to arrive on the 10??
My logic would suggest, if it is ready on the 20/21, then the system should Deploy and receive it within the month.
Is there any way to ensure that the Receipt arrives within the month it is forecasted/needed? Are we running Deployment incorrectly using monthly buckets?
For all of our Stock movements though, we only want to generate one Order per month??
Anyone have any ideas how we might achieve this??
